The transport system is de- signed so that the system makes a single unit with which receipt of coal, unloading, coal storage and transport to the bunkers of boilers 5 and 6 is achieved. Each of the boilers is of installed capacity of 200MW. Coal supply system can be divided into the following sections: facility for receiving and unloading, coal conveyor system, system for power supply, control, measurement and signal system.
The preparations for FAT of TGC for Unit 4 – 720 MW of Shuqaiq Thermal Power Plant have started. The FAT is planned for end of March 2015, and will be organized at Alstom FAT site which is located in Mannheim, Germany. Alstom will supply 4 x 720 MW steam turbine generator sets for the Shuqaiq project. The contract is valued at approximately €170 million.
FAT of TGC for Yanbu 3 is planned in the end of February 2015, and will be organized at Alstom FAT site which is located in Mannheim, Germany. Yanbu 3 will be one of the country’s first supercritical power plants to run on heavy fuel oil. It was even upgraded to burn gas too.
